NDSU will introduce its two new assistant football coaches today at a 3 p.m. press conference. Graduate assistant Tim Polasek is being promoted to running backs coach taking the place of Steve Laqua.
Scott Hazelton is taking Todd Wash’s spot on the defensive line. Hazelton, who was a Bison graduate assistant a few years ago, spent the last year at Michigan Tech. Before that, he was at Missouri Southern State and St. Olaf College (Minn.).
Laqua resigned for family reasons and Wash took an assistant’s job at Tampa Bay.
Also, a note to Gateway Football Conference shoppers: Nothing is going to happen this week.
The blog below addressing the Laqua situation was very unclear. It read to me that Bohl was understanding when Laqua said that he needed more time with his family. Then the blog went on to say that Bohl is VERY family oriented and allows his assistants to get home for supper with their family. Comparatively, wasn’t Laqua already being given a significant amount of time? Seriously, was the time he spent with his family when he coached at UM-Crookston more? Reading the blog below, I wouldn’t think so.

Any idea on what he’ll do next? Joining Feeney’s staff at FSH perhaps?

Have you heard that nothing was happening this week with the Gateway? Who from?
Lakes, Did you read the bottom of the blog?? How many times have you promised something with the Gateway and nothing comes out of it? Too bad that we lost those coaches but thats how the game goes.
Allow me to clarify Bohl’s family-friendly coaching nature. He’s family-friendly COMPARED to other coaches. The Bison staff still puts in a lot of hours; it’s not like they get in at 9 and leave at 5. It’s more like get in while it’s still dark, 6ish, and leave about 12 or 13 hours later. There are coaches in the business who get in at 5 a.m. and leave at 10 p.m. or later. Laqua has three kids 3 years old or younger and a wife who is a family physician, which is a labor-intensive profession. Then there is the job of recruiting, which puts a coach on the road for a week straight, back for the weekend and then on the road again.
Texas Bison Fan, somehow has been posting as Lakes… when it is indeed not lakes.
fyi I’ve never read a statement that makes less sense than what you just wrote. Try putting it in English next time.
After the “quiet” weekend, I was hoping to hear some definative conference news (in or out) today or tomorrow. Oh well, thanks for the update and all the great work, Jeff.

Although I like read and sometimes post on the comment section, I think we need to turn them off again. I can’t take Lakes lunacy anymore. At this rate he is going to jinx our Gateway chances.
Those of you wanting the comments section turned off for one or two guys posting crap need to relax. If you can’t filter out 3 or 4 bad posts on a thread than you shouldn’t be using the internet.
It is not lakes bison posting this stuff people. It is an imposter.
How do you know who it is? Its not like the guy has a history of being reliable or giving out good information. Everything posted seems like stuff he would say.
And honestly, who cares. I see “Lakesbison”, I ignore it. The guy/kid is a complete moron, and his posts are worth the 10 seconds it takes to read them. If somebody else is posting under “Lakesbison”, it just makes their stuff that much easier to ignore.

His posting style is quite copyable. However, if you weren’t totally confused by the half not his, you would be able to tell the difference.

KKK (Killer Kierah Kimbrough) led UND with 25 points. It was a quiet 25 as she was the beneficiary of a lot of inside passes for layups. But she deserves credit for being able to finish because of her strength and jumping ability.
