Spoke to Gene today at the MidCon tournament in Tulsa. He said there have been some conversations today with the Gateway folks. Didn’t want to talk much about details but said the discussions have been positive and that he’s optimistic a deal can be reached. Said he didnt’ want to discuss numbers but hoped that something could be resolved by the end of the week. He’ll be gone until Wednesday so any announcement seems unlikely until at least that time.
Maybe the GWFC and Gateway should be looking for funds from the NCAA like the NCC did when they added Central and Western Washington?

Hopefully the herd can get into this conference and Lakes/wannabees can move onto to talking about football. However, Lake’s prediction about something happening this week sounds more promising. Oral Roberts looked pretty impressive last night. It’ll be interesting to see what they do tonight.

The link is real and legit. Looks like the Gateway will have Fargo and Brookings on the schedule in 2008. Expect an official announcement from the schools and conference this week. Can’t wait to make road trips to Southern IL and Norther IA.
