Good to do a radio show and stay in Fargo for a change. Here’s what’s up on the Saturday Morning Sports Show from 9-11 on WDAY-AM 970:

NDSU head volleyball coach Erich Hinterstocker joins us in the first hour. In the second, Bison offensive coordinator Brent Vigen right after the top of the hour and later, WDAY’s Trevor Peterson and The Forum’s Eric Peterson — both on their way to Collegeville, Minn., — discuss the Cobbers at St. John’s annual clash. Also trying to click in with somebody from the RedHawks if the cobwebs are not too terrible.

    Your simply the best! The human interest story on Roy Johnson was terrific! We, “the Forum sports readers”, love what you and your peers do with the tri-state sports scene.

  4. Man this is getting exciting! I can’t hear sports talk but if both NDSU and USD win next week is going to be huge! “Battle of the Giant Killers” on AGS.

    There is now a “Big 3″ in the Dakotas when it comes to College Athletics. USD has earned a spot, NDSU started the club and SDSU was a playoff team first year eligible. Good programs. NDSU can clearly established themselves as the premier college football program in the Dakotas because they are the only “Big 3 School” to play the other 2.

    Speaking of Bjornson, think he needs to pick a name and stick to it. Not really fooling anyone. How’s that super new website that was going to be the demise of bisonville.com going? Getting lots of hits?

  6. The Stage is set for the first battle of “The Big 3″ USD @NDSU. Its not surprising the 3 Universities that were in favor of the D! move are the Universities enjoying success. The move was all about football and basketball for them. It was about getting the hockey money for UND.

    It was a little boring playing just Mankato, SCSU and UND, you know, schools like that. Now we have 3 very successful D1 Football programs in the Dakotas with the first game of the round-robin Dakota Football Championship set to get underway next Saturday in Fargo with the “Battle of the Giant Killers”. The “Big 3″ are also in the Summit together. Hang onto your hats!!!

    PS. if North Dakota D1 schools are going to be playing D2 opponents I think the guarantee money should be kept in state. The DAC schools could use that kind of guarantee money. Why should UND be shipping Hundreds of thousands out of state to find a tomato can to play when they can pay that same money to a North Dakota lower division school?

    Pss. D2 UND quit playing D1 NDSU because of scholarship differences. God Bless them. Now that UND is D1 they are playing all the D2 and NAIA teams they can find.

  7. Good points about the money and scholarships. I think if you are in the business of buying wins you should do business locally. Especially if you are a publicly funded institution.

    Didnt D2 reduce scholarships so the difference between D2 and D1 is even bigger than when UND quit.

    How about all the degrading soft core porn content? All the degrading sexual innuendo. The endless bitching and whining. The entire thing is a cesspool and it reflects poorly on the folks posting there, it reflects poorly on NDSU and it offers nothing of value. Im ashamed of it.
