NDSU will already be without it’s top wide receiver for spring ball, Warren Holloway after knee surgery, today we found out the Bison will be without one of it’s starting linebackers. Football sources confirm to me that junior linebacker Brandon Jemison will be out for 3-5 months after undergoing hip surgery yesterday. Jemison, a Fargo South product has been a two-year starter for the Bison. He started and played in all 14 games last year, finishing 2nd on the team in tackles with 81, 5.5 for loss, forcing and recovering 1 fumble. Interesting to see who will step up especially during the spring with Jemison out, Grant Olson got major playing time at the end of the year, look for Don Carter to get more reps and Chad Willson is still there along with Senior Preston Evans. More tonight on WDAY 6 Sports.
That’s too bad! Heal quickly!
That’s really too bad for Jemison. But i don’t think this is too big of a deal since according to bison03, basically the entire starting lineup will be in the pros someday. we should still be able to win at the lower D1 level with 21 future pros instead of 22.
One of the best things about Bison03 is that he “predicted” (if my memory serves me right) NDSU to destroy Robert Morris and Montana State, and then we did…
Actually I said when the pairings came out what a good draw we had and we’d blow out the teams we played. While everyone was down on our team I predicted the twenty point victories. Make fun all you want but you guys where probably just happy to be there. Whats worse? As far as Jemison, I’ve heard its not 5 months. If he’s back by July he may be a step slow come camp opener but will be back in shape by the time conference games start and thats all that matters. We’ll beat the first three cupcakes on our schedule with him at 80%. Our second string would beat the first two teams on our schedule by 20. He’s got plenty of time to get healed up before the playoffs when we’ll really need him.
Hopefully he heals quickly. IMO, the LB corp will be just fine even if Jemison cannot go right away in 11. Willson-Olson-Evans……that is a pretty good group right there. Young guys stepping up for depth will be the key.
Brandon’s been a total champ out there, hope he recovers quickly and has a big fall (perhaps not the most tasteful choice of words given the circumstances).
Wow, here to a fast recovery!
Not only is he fast and a hard hitter he has been very durable. Do we know what the actual injury is and when it happened? This is a guy we need he is a big time player! We have other great players on defense but if we don’t have him it really hurts our depth at a position that looks to be one of the strengths of the team. Good Luck Brandon! Go Bison!
Will Vaadeland ever play? If he’s healthy, can he add depth to the LB corp? Or is it carved in stone that he’s a TE if he makes an impact ever on this team?
Does it really matter if we have WR on the team? Might as well line up with 2 TE and 2FB every play, everyone in the stadium knows all we can do is run, play action and throw quick passes.
