If first impressions mean anything, and they usually do, thumbs up to the host city for the Division I Football Championship Subdivision title game. At one time a small town next to a super highway, one that people wondered why it was built, the town is developing at a fast pace. In 2002, there was one high school.
Now there are six.
In the last 13 years, the school district has gone from five schools to more than 50. And you thought the expansion of Davies and the new West Fargo high school was fast.
The field at FC Dallas Stadium looks fantastic. The stadium is nice and although some NDSU folks would like to see a bigger venue, it appears ideal for this game. The FCS championship is not the Fiesta Bowl.
NDSU had a closed practice late this afternoon. What contact we had with players and coaches gave the vibe of a loose team that seemed very impressed with the entire setup. We’ll hear more from the team tomorrow.
The Bison will win.
