Mike Brown of the Tulsa World newspaper conducted an informal survery of media and sports information directors for Summit League men’s basketball player and coach of the year. Here is his results with first place votes in parentheses:
Player of Year
1, Nate Wolters (4) 36.
2, Reggie Hamilton (3) 27.
3, Dominique Morrison (3) 25.
4, Alex Young 2.
Coach of Year
1, Scott Nagy (3) 22.
2, Scott Sutton (3) 20.
3, Jim Molinari (1) 14.
4, Roger Reid 4.
5, Saul Phillips 3.
What a joke- Morrison & Hamilton are the top 2 players in this league, Alex Young 3rd. Wolters drives and gets calls, that all he does well.
Morrison/Hamilton are just amazing athletes and better than wolters,
Well that is what they said about Steve Nash too and I think he has done alright. If you think all Nate Wolters does is drive and get calls you are crazy. He can shoot the 3, move the ball around making his teammates better and runs the team he is an all around great player and I think he should be at the top of this list. Go Bison!
Nate Wolters is the most complete player in the league and deserves to be named the league MVP. Stats: 21.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.6 steals and the best assist/turnover ration in the league (170 assists to only 60 turnovers).
…”all he does well” is….well everything.
Article on potential NBA players in the Summit? Come on Jeff, there are scouts that go to almost every division I basketball game, and it doesn’t mean they are NBA ready guys.
Run this sentence by the editor again. “It’s why the NBA is paying more attention to the Summit then it ever has.”
“then” is adverb to compare and measure time, “than” compares two contrasting objects such as “more attention.” Just thought I would raise it since there was discussion earlier this week on anonymous sources and editors. Not casting stones and I probably have five grammatcal or typo errors in this paragraph alone myself.
Fine article backed up by facts. Thanks!
