FCS Pick ‘Em – Week 1

Alrighty folks, we’re bringing back our FCS Pick Em segment that we did every Friday last season, Mr. Kolpack somehow got the better of me last season; full-scale investigation has been launched into that; but we’re back for a new season. Already two upsets last night on the FCS over FBS level; McNeese State took out Middle Tennessee State of the Sun Belt; while Eastern Washington beat Idaho from the WAC. There are some great games this weekend, of course look for our Bison prediction in Saturday morning’s Forum. Feel free to make your picks in the comments section!

  1. It looks like Jeff will edge Dom out this week. Both will get the Appalachian v. ECU game wrong. Even though ECU lost three wide receivers to discipline this week and had a terrible 2011 season, ECU has won 21 straight games against FCS opponents and will push that streak to 22 on Saturday.
Jeff has the edge with Maryland against W & M. Even though the Terps will be starting a freshman quarterback they have an experienced line and you just can’t pick against the home of Under Armor.
Jeff also has the edge in the battle of the Hoosier State. IU will beat ISU, even though the Hoosiers didn’t have but one win in the 2011 campaign. Sophomore Te Roberson will be an exciting player to watch in 2012 in the Big Ten and this may be his coming out party.

  3. Dom or Jeff , I’m just curious couldn’t the Bison use the new track complex for football practice like UND is doing? Or is the UND bui8ding going to be larger? Go Bison!

  7. You guys do realize that East Carolina is a FBS team right?

  9. Montana is dealing with some QB and other off field issues. Not sure this one is in the bag. However maybe the best thing for that team is to play football and forget the rest.

  10. My post earlier was right on with Appalachian, Indiana State and W & M. I should quit there. Yesterday was a great day of football no matter who you picked…fall football is here!
