2 football things

First, a big thanks to everybody who emailed us on our request to do the Media Blog pre-game show in a bus. This is our 2,160th blog post since this thing started with Hallstrom’s blazing review of the Natchitoches Meat Pie and the bus response was the most interesting, certainly. It was an overwhelming response that shows the giving nature of us NoDaks/Minnies (anybody who will let Peterson in their bus is a giving person). Dom and I will get together tomorrow and figure out what to do with the probability of doing more than one bus this year, if the folks will still have us.

Second, the verbal of Sioux Falls Washington offensive lineman Austin Kuhnert is interesting on a couple of fronts. NDSU continues to do well recruiting in South Dakota, particularly Sioux Falls, and the fact Kuhnert is the youngest senior in his graduating class. He won’t turn 18 until next August and already he’s 6-foot-5, 285 pounds, at least that’s the listed specs right now. His coach, Brian Hermanson (whose son Matt Hermanson plays at Montana) said Kuhnert is a hard worker who is a good teammate and has great feet. Sounds like a good combo to me.
