It’s been a tough week, despite a solid 9-5 record last week, Kolpack’s dominating 2012 continued to the tune of a 11-3 week and now leads by six games. Early exit polls would say this is over, but the Mets fan in me reminds everyone they blew a seven-game lead with 17 to play in 2007, so as John Rambo once famously said, “Nothing is over….nothing!” Big weekend coming in Sioux Falls, I’m hearing all the stops will be pulled out for our pregame show tomorrow, that’s where you’ll find our pick for the Bison-USD game along with tomorrow’s paper. Here are the picks!

dom’s picks with the exception of ucdavis over nau
Montana beats UND by 30 points. That school is an embarrassment to North Dakota and scared to play NDSU just like Gophers. Go back to D2.

You were saying?
I like WOFF. Theres the new nickname for UND.
■(14) New Hampshire at Maine- UNH, guessing they are #14 for a reason.
■Missouri State at (13) Illinois St- Illinois St. Still in hunt for Valley Champs.
■Montana at North Dakota- Montana, picking against UND till they beat a few meaningful teams. But this should be exciting game. What UND fans have been pointing towards since Big Sky entrance, can’t wait for the let down.
■(2) James Madison at Richmond-JMU, guessing they are #2 for a reason.
■Southern Illinois at (16) Youngstown St.- Haven’t picked these teams correct the last 4 weeks so what the heck do I know besides nothing? But seems to me S.Illinois is on the upswing and Youngstown St. is on the downslide. So guess Salukis.
■South Dakota State at Northern Iowa- SDSU. Until someone can beat them and this is there first test in the Valley. SDSU has allowed like only 4 offensive TD’s all year and given up the least in the Valley. N. Iowa playing for pride, SDSU playing for primo playoff ranking.
■(8) Old Dominion at (19) Towson- ODU
■(25) Indiana State at Western Illinois-WIU. This is the Sycamores chance to pull off the let down game like NDSU did last week. Although looking at the Valley Stats, Valley teams are better on the road this year then at home in Conf play.Teams with one loss have lost at home and not on the road.
■Sacramento St at (1) Eastern Washington- EWU, again, should be a good game, read somewhere Sac. St has a history of winning at E. Wash. Is this EWU let down after big game last week against Mont. St?
■(21) McNeese St at (6) Sam Houston St- Sam Houston St.
■Portland State at (12) Cal Poly- Cal Poly, agree, Cal Poly most underrated team in FCS. Now watch them lose.
■(20) Harvard at Princeton- Seriously? Princeton in the upset.
■UC Davis at (15) Northern Arizona- Northern Arizona, till they start losing.
FCS Pick ’Em Game of the Week
■(9) Wofford at (11) Appalachian State- App St at home.
NDSU at South Dakota- NDSU, if we don’t turn the ball over or give up special teams TD. If we make USD offense have to score, we should be ok. Worried about the top two WR threats for Bison being out, Indiana St had total lack of respect for passing game last week with our best WR’s in the game. Now they are both out, if it don’t bite us against the Coyotes, it may against Southern Illinois and SDSU.
The only game worth calling is of course, what has been dubbed, a Dakota Big 3 game. Im picking SDSU over UNI, NDSU, YSU, Indiana State, Ill. State and Montana.
Love the defense in the Big Sky. Nobody has one so everybody scores big offensive statistics leaving them to think they have great offenses.
?
The use of the title Dakota Big 3 is especially funny when you consider the Flagship Dakota School that is left out has a winning record over all of the “Big 3″.
Maine
Illinois State
Montana-45 UND-42
James Madison
Southern Illinois-28 Youngstown-24
SDSU-38 UNI-13
Old Dominion
Indiana State
Eastern Washington
Sam Houston
Cal-Poly
Harvard
Northern Arizona
Wofford
NDSU-27 USD-23 Closer than most people think but we are beat up!
Dragons get by Mary in a close one!
Concordia Cobbers over Augsburg
Blah blah NDSU by 30! Tailgating lot is already filling up bars full of NDSU fans lets party !@
Boasting has nothing to do with Dakota Big 3 alignment. The Dakota Big Three: NDSU, SDSU and USD are all major universities in the Dakotas and compete with one another at the highest level of collage athletics. They didnt quit. The next closest qualifier for membership in the Dakota Big Three is probably the USF Cougars. They have done well from the group of Dakota schools not in the Dakota Big Three alignment.
Big Sky trumps the “Big 3″ any day. You must have forgotten the hurried up conference call the Missouri Valley had once they caught wind the Big Sky was going to invite UND and USD. Remember that? the AD’s and commish all got on the phone immediately and made a last second hurry-up offer to USD to please, please join the Missouri Valley. It was their chance to grab the little sister of the 4 large Dakota universities, and at the same time avoid the most successful school aka UND. So enjoy your 54-0 yearly cream puff game. UND has moved on to bigger and better competition.
NDSU, SDSU, and USD do not play at the “highest level” of college football. Nice flame.
The Dakota Big 3: NDSU, SDSU & USD compete at the highest level of college athletics. They didn’t quit. They play and compete in the tradition of the great universities in North and South Dakota. It’s a tradition shared only among those schools in the Dakota Big Three Alliance: NDSU, SDSU & USD. They compete for the title of best college football team in the Dakotas.
Yawn – check the record book
really Big Ten Hockey? that round-robin tourney for “title of the best college football team in the Dakotas” that you speak of must be the most underpublicized event in the history of sports.
Dakota Big Three baby: NDSU, SDSU & USD. The major universities in the Dakotas!
