  1. “Cal Poly doesn’t play Mt.or Mt State”, this would be a great year to play the Mt. schools.

Cal Poly besides playing EWU on the road they also play NAU on the road at the end of the season.

Big Sky will get 4 teams in, EWU, Mt. State, Cal Poly and NAU. Too bad so many of these Big Sky teams don’t have to play each other during the regular season.

  2. NAU’s schedule is even more favorable than Cal Poly. NAU misses both EWU and Montana St and they don’t play Sacramento St either who’s probably the 5th best team in the Big Sky. It’s a joke that they could win the auto bid while playing only one of the other top 4 teams in the conference.

    • I agree with you, Bob, about the ease with which NAU could win the autobid; the lack of a smash mouth, meat grinder of a schedule could hurt them later. MVFC teams don’t have this luxury. NAU ‘s schedule could (I said could) result in a hasty exit from the playoffs.

  3. SIU’s offense isn’t very good. They score off turnovers, blocked punts and kick returns.

NDSU’s defense will be great again. Bison offense needs to be error free (no turnovers) and they should win. Bison passing game is better this year than it was last year.

  4. It may not affect the Big Sky standings, but the Eastern Washington – Cal Poly matchup next week is a “Non Conf” game, does this have any affect on the overall picture of the playoffs?

    • Any loss, regardless of it being a conference game or not, would/does hurt your ranking. The loser of EWU/Cal Poly can expect to drop anywhere from 4 to 7 spots on most polls.

  5. This is looking way ahead and lots of things have to happen for this to work out,
    but…………………………
if NDSU wins out this year, including playoffs/FCS title
    and
if Kansas St. wins out this year, including BCS title
    then
there is the possibility of the two national title teams meeting in the 1st game of next season!

    • That happened in 2008 as well when App St played LSU to open the season with both as defending champs. LSU won 41-13. However, with the amount of players K-State will lose and the amount of players NDSU will bring back the outcome could be different if it happened again.

    • I think all of us Bison fans are keeping an eye on K-State this year. It will be the best FBS team the Bison have ever faced.

  6. Jeff, home field advantage? In the past 22 games the Bison have only lost two of them. Both at home.

SIU will be a very tough game. Go Bison!

  7. Concerning comment about not knowing Colville was out with an injury, not all apparent injuries are talked about so as not to give the opposing team an advantage.
