Here’s some information on Drew Davis from Memorial High School in Eau Claire, Wis., the wide receiver/tight end/who knows who will be a preferred walkon at NDSU next fall. He attended NDSU’s summer camp and the Bison coaches liked what they saw.
He has good size at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, perhaps could get big enough to be the hybrid tight end at NDSU. His head coach, Paul Kling, said “he has the best hands I have seen on a high school wide receiver. He is physical and will go get a football.” Wisconsin has been good to NDSU over the last several decades and particularly the last couple of years with walkons Derrick Lang and Brian Schaetz. NDSU doesn’t have a whole lot of scholarships to give this season, so another preferred walkon this early is a good sign that recruiting is going OK.
which one of ndsu coaches recruit in wisc…whoever that is, sure looks like hes doing his job!!! GREAT JOB!!!
I wondered the same thing. They’ve found some really good players in Wisconsin over the years, all the way back to Lamar Gordon.
Tim Polasek recruits Wisconsin.
Good ol’ upper mid-west used-to-the-cold hard-working farm boys……….can’t have enough of ‘em.
Oops, this reply should have been in the Schaetz thread…… where’s that coffee?
Wisconsin sucks focus on twin cities please. Thank you.
Thank goodness you don’t recruit for NDSU.
yeah that’s why Wisconsin has more people than minnesota and milwaukee is only 90 miles from chicago are you being serious? Wisconsin has given us Brock Jensen, colten heagle colvin, ollman, hagen, and juckem , all of who have contributed plus and a few great walkons and before that the likes of lamar gordon , kole heckendorf, and nick schoemmer , all who made it to the nfl.
We should all do our best to just ignore or simply “avoid” Sam, aka Lakes, regardless of his new sign on names.
The walk on program continues to impress me and Bohl and his staff should be applauded for how meticulously they have built it. The attraction has to be that guys like Davis can see that they will be given every opportunity to contribute. All you have to do is recite the names of Haeg, LaVoy, Beckius, Moody, Schaetz, Lang, and Luecke. Given how they are developing, I have no doubt Lesar will contribute in the near future and my guess is Hushka would be playing today if not for an injury.
Sometimes the coaches can grab a real talent like Arp where they would rather walk on with the Bison than take a scholarship offer somewhere else. Good Job Coaches!!
Welcome aboard Drew! Your future is bright as a Bison.
