NDSU got jobbed by the NCAA. It is virtually impossible in college football to beat the same team twice. If you doubt that, just look at Bama and LSU last year. Crap!
“Impossible”? That’s the can do attitude making excuses two weeks in advance. If you are the best team…doesn’t matter who you play…just win.
This game is going to be a battle of strategies. Its about time the Bison Offensive Coordinator shows his true skills. We need to come up with a real Offensive plan to hit the Jacks hard and early. If we wait for adjustments we might risk our QB looking his confidence and throwing bad passes. We need good Offensive strategy.
Two weeks to heal and scheme – we’ll be fine.
ZACH ZENNER and team will be playing like they dont have anything to loose and the BISON have everything on the line, including the rock.
FCS looks like smalltime ball with these brackets….the top consideration when making the bracket was travel distance. Pathetic! SDSU can’t be happy about their playoff road, either. i thought MVFC was regarded as the best; this bracket sure doesn’t make it appear that way.
MVFC is only considered the best by Bison fans. An impartial selection committee made the selection. You have to lose sometime if you aren’t the best so why does it matter who is in your bracket?
With that logic why does the #1 overall seed in the NCAA basketball tournament play the #64 seed? Why not put a team that is pretty good but closer to that location in that game against them?
Bethune Cookman and Wagner are both worse than SDSU and Eastern Illinois and are definitely not closer to Eastern Washington than they are to Fargo.
all the computers and pretty much everyone who pays attention agrees that the mvfc was the strongest conference by far this year.
impartial my ass, impartial doesn’t exist in human judgement
Location plays somewhat of a role in playoff seeding Do you think it was a coincidence that NDSU basketball first round tournament game was in Minneapolis a few years ago?
They didn’t put Missouri or Kansas State against Kansas they put NDSU.
Take the closest teams from the worst conference and have them play at the #1 seed.
Two weeks ago I said I wouldn’t be surprised if the Bison got the number one seed that SDSU would be heading to the dome in the second round of the playoffs. Everyone laughed and thought I was crazy. This is how the NCAA works. Jacks get a second crack to beat the Bison but I look at it like the Bison get a second chance to show the Jacks who the kings of FCS football are. Remember we get a week off to heal up and rest, that was a huge advantage for the Bison last year. Our defense will be ready for the Jacks again. Will they be ready for the Bison and a cranked up FargoDome? If the Bison are the best they will beat the Jacks and anyone else who stands in their way. Jeff I do agree if we get Georgia Southern I would really prefer having Mr. Heagle in uniform! Go Bison!
You just got lucky, because your predictions were not scientific. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
No dude tyhis stems from 1986 when the Bison played USD in the title game. After that the NCC teams were seeded to meet before the title game every year.
Scientific? Seriously?
Looks like alot of interesting matchups. NDSU and Montana St are only teams with a possiblity of quick Conf. rematchs, but who cares. Not real worried about facing the cheap shot Rabbits again, unless they try to take out another one of our D-lineman. Looking forward to Cal Poly @ Sam Houston St., and to see what Illinois St. can do against App. St.
Glad to see Sam Houston St on the other side of the bracket. I was hoping the Bison would draw the matchup Eastern WA got. But, if you think you belong in Frisco, you should be able to beat SDSU a second time. GO BISON!
Seth, I actually think it is way too cool that EWU got the #2 seed. If we get a chance to play them again in the playoffs, why not completely demoralize them by denying them a natty?
Looking forward to the playoffs. Go Bison!
Straight up….BIson got screwed on this bracket. Wagner/Colgate winner should be coming to Fargo in 2 weeks. I would love Dom or Jeff to find out why. How close is Stony Brook/Villanova to Bozeman? How close is Wagner/Colgate to EWU? Don’t want to hear travel distance/expense rationale.
Bison go 10-1, are defending champs with a target on their backs all year and this is how they get rewarded? Whatever man, it’s a complete joke. SDSU 2012 is NDSU 2010. SDSU will have no problem with EIU, so there will be a rematch.
Bison would beat Wagner/Colgate going away. 3rd/4th stringers get some game action. The odds of beating SDSU are probably 60/40, especially if the offense that showed up for the 1st SDSU game rears its ugly head. Not scared of them, just stating facts. SDSU helped us a lot with their terrible penalties in that game as well.
Did I miss something? I didn’t know the Jacks already beat Eastern Illinois. Relax Bison fans, show some frick’n confidence in our team. WE ARE THE DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPS, CONFERENCE CHAMPS, NUMBER 1 team in the nation and playing at home with a bye week. Can’t believe all the whining. Who cares who we play, line them up and knock them down one by one.
If you aren’t complaining or whining your aren’t a true Bison fan!! Go Bison!!!!!!!
It’s SDSU people…not Notre Dame, Alabama or Oregon!!!
Only fans who have never played sports wuld make this an issue. The coaches and players are excited to be in the show and welcome all challenges. A bigger concern would be brock jensen’s ability to looked off defenders and check down to the right reciever.
You’ve cpatreud this perfectly. Thanks for taking the time!
