  1. Western Michigan hired Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR coach OPJ Fleck so that’s definitely not happening.

  2. Best Bison game ever? How about the 4 OT playoff game in the mud against Pittsburg St… Late 90′s?

    • I remember this game; it should be a rude reminider to those who advocate a return to outdoor football. It could very easily be zero or below in ND in the middle of December. Who wants to sit for 4 hours and freeze their keisters off outside at the old field (I’m talking the normal fan, not the person with a .3 to .4 percent blood alcolhol content)……….”Not I,” said the little brown mouse.

  3. my hope is Bohl is still happy here and I also hope he would for sure see the junior class through next year. These juniors are the heart of the team and Craig has a great gig here and there will be openings next year again and the year after. I have always heard that he would not get the head job at Nebraska if Pelini was out, but Nebraska even with a winning record should be looking at a new coach and Bohl I would think would take that if and when offered. So Coach, Hang with the Bison and see this great team through for a year or two yet.

  4. looks like a recruit or reporter isn’t happy that NDSU didn’t give the kid from perham a full ride like UNI did

FANTASTIC conversation with Jordan Hein this afternoon. The story on his future at the University of Northern Iowa coming later. Jordan is a class act, and UNI is lucky to have him! To bad more local schools (NDSU) didn’t realize what a special kid he is.

    • Not alot of money to go around this year for NDSU and we already have a QB and it sounds like that is what he wanted to play.

“It helped that UNI, a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference at the Division I, FCS level, recruited Hein to play quarterback. Something not all of the bigger school’s after him were committing to.”

  5. So you two really think the national championship game will be occupied by 70-75% Bison fans? Seriously? That would really be cool if it turns out to be true.

    • Oldguy, I’d bet 75% is darn close in terms of percentage as the NCAA can tell who bought tickets by the zip codes and a good chunk of them were purchased early by ND & MN zip codes. I personally bought 14 (don’t tell my wife) for buddies & myself to have a blast again ($30 each) back in September with the mindset if they don’t go, I can sell them on Craig’s List or Stub Hub for what I bought them for. (praying Eastern Wash. doesn’t go as their fans typically don’t travel well) Each team gets only 4000 tickets. LOTS of Bison Fans I know bought tickets midway through the season…See you all in Frisco & GO BISON!!!

      • Oops…Forgot to say: CONGRATULATIONS COACH BOHL on your coach of the year award!! As usual, another great job this year – 1 more game to go! GO BISON!!

        • Read my blog closer…I purchased 14 tickets to Frisco back in September, hoping Eastern Washington doesn’t make it to Frisco. I would have had a hard time selling the tickets (if Eastern Washington did go) because their fans do not travel well….
          GO BISON!!

          • Correction, you have no idea what grammar is with your 3rd grade education. I see all your past comments, and it is true you enjoy cutting other Bison fans down. Therefore, I don’t believe you are a Bison Fan. If you are, you must have ‘shortman’s disease’ to make yourself feel better. By the way, my 10 year old son knows the game of football better than you. LOL

  6. The way the Bison roll players in on defense and offense makes it awful tough to win an individual award. I think if you asked the players they would all take a National Championship over the individual awards.

Congratulations Coach Bohl! Now stay here at NDSU until you retire and become the Tom Osbourn of the Bison.

    • I agree, when we all emphasize the importance of playing as team, giving awards for induvidual accomplishments seems contradictory and conter-intuvitve.

  7. The stadium holds a little over 20,000 seats.

4800 wiill be NDSU’s share to distribute via priority points
4800 will be SHSU’s share to distribute
7800 tickets were sold via the general sale (most to ND/MN area codes)

That leaves about 2600 remaining tickets. If NDSU fans get only half of those tickets that would put the distribution of fans at 14,000+ tickets (or 70%)

  8. This game will be sold out by Sunday. StubHub has 309 seats on the Bison Side (visitor so opposite from last year), 61 endzone, and 121 home side. That is 491 prepurchased tickets for sale, most over $200 each. I called the stadium manager after the Youngstown Game and had a fun talk with him. He wanted to know what was in the water in ND. There was a rash of ticket sales from NDSU fans even that early in the season and our fans purchased all four suites (80 seats total and lots of standing room) Tells me the Stub Hub seats are from other teams that did not make it and NDSU purchased the majority of the seats already sold. There will be about 7000 SHSU fans. If they move the bands again they will get 22000 with standing room counted. 70% Bison is not out of the question and we will definitly be more than the estimated 50/50 last year. That was connservative. EVERYONE GO, BE LOUD.

    • For sure the bars/hotels/restaurants are smiling ear to ear, but the rest of the Dallas metro area could probably care less. Outside of the Frisco area do you think anyone in the area even notices the Bison fan presence?
If the Cowboys make the playoffs the local media will hardly cover the game.

      • Yes, Debbie Downer, you are correct. Thanks for pointing out something that EVERYONE already knows. We Bison fans are excited about our club but in the grand scheme of what goes on in Dallas it doesn’t really matter that much.

Isn’t there some highschooler you should be telling that there is no Santa Clause, Tooth Fairy or Easter Bunny?

        • Correction, from your past comments, it looks like you enjoy ripping into other Bison Fans. You must be a jealous und fighting who fan. Go get a few color crayons and go color a picture what und’s next mascot will be. Tough guy

          • Have been to every home game this year, as well as the CSU game, and am going to Frisco. I’m a real fan who’s been watching this team since Chris Simdorn and Tony Satter ran the Veer Option under Rocky.

Just because I don’t drink the Kool-Aid and make ridiculous statements like others on this blog, it doesn’t mean I’m not a fan. I just know football a lot better than most of you.

      • “Outside the Frisco area”………..how about the airport, or was this just a rhetorical question? Must you be the “Johnny Rain Cloud” always?

        • Let him be small minded. I can tell you Rachel at the bar we hung out at is going to be looking forward to our return!!! YEEEE HAAAAA.

  9. This is the biggest game ever played in any sport by any university in the Dakotas, bar none, including the USF win at Grand Forks.

It’s a big deal for The Big 3 too! Just wait until all 3 are in the play-offs, not just the mighty land grants.

  10. A limited number of standing-room only tickets will be available on Thursday.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday at NCAA.com/fcs. Tickets are $30 and provide entrance into FC Dallas Stadium with access to watch the game from the concourse.
Bison Fans note: Last year, there were a lot of empty seats in the top rows above the Bison fan section. In talking to a few guys that were sitting there, these were all sponsor seats that went to waste. If you don’t have tickets and wanted to get by cheap, my suggestion is to buy standing room tickets and move down in these empty seats. There will be some! GO BISON!!

  11. Don’t let not having a ticket in hand stop you from going! I went last year w/o a ticket but had no problem finding scalpers and others with extras for sale all morning long. In the end I bought too soon (I didn’t fly from Minneapolis to miss the game) and ended up paying a scalper about $100 each for four 25 yard line seats about 10 rows up about 2 hours before kick off. When we finally went into the game about 20 minutes before kick off we saw several people with extras trying to sell them for anywhere from $20-$50 each. The stadium is relatively small, who cares where you sit, just get inside and make sure you let them know you are there! I just wish I was going this year….please don’t make me wait another 20 years for a title game appearance as punishment for missing it as happened when I missed the 1990 game…..

  12. Not being part of The Big 3 is one thing but I sure hope the UND fighting fans show their support for North Dakota, show they are at least aware and respectful of the huge number of Bison fans in North Dakota and don’t start running their mouths disrespectfully. This is a good time for UND fighting fans to show everyone they respect North Dakota, they respect what The Bison have accomplished and remember The NDSU Bison are carrying the State flag for all of us even you folks up there! Go Bison!

    • That’s so cute. “The Big 3″. Help me out… It’s you (JBB), $am the Threatener, and Little JohnBoy from Johnson Hall.

      • Dont get mad braugh. The Dakota Big 3 are the big Dakota Universities: NDSU, SDSU & USD; standing atop college athletics in the Dakotas. They compete in the same conferences, play for the same championships, are exposed to the same fan bases, have common and long standing traditions of cooperation and competition and have stayed loyal to the Dakotas since the begining. Thats why they are the Big 3 and thats why they are at the center of College Athletics in the Dakotas.

  13. I love how we haven’t even won a second consecutive title and you guys write an article about three in a row. That’s awesome! If this coaching staff stays somewhat together, they will set some unattainable records. Just look at the recruits they have brought in. Jensen might be first qb to ever win two consecutive titles, then lose the starting job as a senior. That’s unheard of.

    • Barring an amputation of an arm or a leg, that ain’t gonna happen. Jensen will be the starter his senior year.

  14. I’m seeing a lot of disrespect from UND fighting fans toward The NDSU BISON and their second appearance in as many yrs in this nationally celebrated event, the FCS National football championship game. I for 1am disappointed. This is a chance, for once, for UND fighting fans to show all of North Dakota they do respect the states premier college sports team, the NDSU BISON! They do respect the glorious traditions of our great state and they do understand the tradition of Bison Football is among them. This is a chance for all of the UND fighting faithful to show they are really part of North Dakota and its great tradition of NDSU BISON Football. What do you say gang?
