  1. 3 Amigos; You were all very entertaining & did a fantastic job all season long! Thank you! There were lots of ‘Beast Mode’ moments this year on both sides of the ball, but G.O.’s 29 tackles vs. Wofford definately tops all other ‘Beast Mode’ moment(s) in my book!
Can’t wait for spring ball! With Perry and Heagle back…my oh my. GO BISON!

  2. The award for best FCS football coverage in the nation this year: Dom, Jeff, and Big E!

  3. Great job this year guys! I would love to see some continuation with the winter and spring sports as well.

  4. Nice Work. What really shows with you guys is that you come across as guys who work together, who can give each other crap without having feelings hurt. I see other media in this area, who think they are something special and have huge egos. You guys cover the sports, you give the best coverage and deserve to have the contract for Bison when it comes due. You all seem sincere as well, not phony and that is why we like you all.
    Here are my awards.
    1. most valuable- Coach Vigen- He has taken hits all year long and everyone is the best play caller after 6 bud lights and a trough of Nachos, but Vigen continually called plays that were very critical and timely.
    2. Biggest impact player- Grant Olson- He looks, sounds and acts like a football player.
3.Most criticized player- Brock Jensen- He will probably be done with football playing after college, but the kid wins and makes plays. His biggest teaching to Carson, Derek and other QB’s is toughness. You can be flashy and throw real pretty, but you better be able to take a hit along the way.
    4. Most fun to watch- Crocket, Smith and the entire defense. Crocket has a motor, Ryan is fast and has fun, fun, fun, and the D is something absolutely special.
Keep up updates as always as we like the recruit info and the lead up to spring. I predict 10000 at the spring game this year.

  5. Brock is good with his feet, he is good with short passes he just needs to work on long passes. He needs to work with the WR and get some good understanding. If he takes care of this, he will be go down as the greatest QBs in the history of NDSU.

  6. Hey guys, the Blog was beyond great all year. BigE won the Blog MVP this season, but will he put the belt on the line next season?

  7. Hey Jeff or Dom, I was on Teryy Vandrovec’s weekly chat about a month ago and one of his listeners said that when the Jacks get their new indoor track facility it will be nicer than NDSU’s new track facility because their track will be 300 meters like the one proposed at UND. DId the Bison get their facilty done first at the expense of going with the more state of the art 300 meter track? I am not a track guy so could you explain the benefits of a 300 meter track over what the Bison have? One more question for anyone reading this, what is the story on Carey Woods, the receiver from Bemidji who redshirted this past season? Someone on the blog had asked if he was going to play next season? Is he injured or is there some other problem? Thanks, GO Bison!

    • Any replacement for Polasak ? I belive he was involved in recruiting as well and was very good in the Wisconsin area.

  8. Yes, Coach Polasak leaving will be a huge loss. wish him the best. But their are Bison football coaches that move on every year to the NFL and FBS. Casey Bradley is only 6 years removed from the Bison and he just had 2 NFL head coaching interviews. someone will come in to replace Polasak and the BISON pedigree will keep on flowing.

  9. You forgot the hypocrite award:

I read this on Bisonville: Jeff Fox Minot, ND District 5 Region 1 Chairman convicted of no liability insurance, a tab violation and driving 70 in a 55. The insurance charge resulted in a fine not dissimilar to the fines implemented in the petition fraud case.

Isn’t he an elected official concerned about ethics in our state. Has the on going discipline of his son for multiple drug violations been appropriate for Mr. Fox? Is Mr fox of sufficient moral character to serve? Those are just one of the questions that popped into my mind after reading that.

        • Jeff fox made this insightful statement locking up the NDSU end of season hypocrit award. His own problems with the law aside he had time to write this in the Minot paper:

“These contractors purport themselves to be church-going pillars of the community. Some even tout their Christianity when advertising their services. I guess they haven’t brushed up on the “Do unto others” lesson we all learned as kids. They’ll get their just comeuppance someday. In the meantime, I’d advise anyone looking for those types of services to look outside Minot”—Mr. Fox

  10. Great stuff guys! Your coverage of the Bison football team is the best.

My favorite beast mode of the playoffs was Perry wrapping up Zenner on SDSUs first series and tossing him to the turf like a rag doll. I think that set the tone for the first playoff game and the rest of the playoffs for the defense.

My vote(s) for best newcomer or breakout player, or what every you called it, is a tie between Esley Thorton who I think will make a major impact as a backup LB. The Bison are thin there and need someone in the rotation. Give him a year working with Kramer and he will be a force. The other is Chuks Amaechi. With Ricky Hagen graduating they need a DE in the rotation and I think he will be a beast off the edge, assuming he puts in the time in the weight room to get up to 225-230.

    • Leevon didn’t play in the playoffs. He was hurt on November 11th during the regular season game versus SDSU.

  11. We just talked to carey woods and warren holloway……contrary to bison03 (UND TROLL please remove him) CAREY WOODS IS ON TEAM EXCITED TO PLAY NEXT YEAR & BATTLE FOR PLAYING TIME.

    • I’m sure you spoke to him directly regarding this. Thank you for the valuable insight.
