You missed a huge Bison connection to the Super Bowl. Jerry Rosburg, assistant head coach and special teams coordinator, was a standout NDSU linebacker in the mid 70′s.
Another shout out should go to NDSU Lacrosse team as they beat the Gophers this weekend.. Lacrosse is fastest growing sport in USA and NDSU has consistently been one of the top teams in their Club Division.
Hardly think it’s a “foregone” conclusion both teams get a national TV game. Yes, they both have solid RPI, but SDSU and NDSU aren’t exactly playing in a power mid-major league, and it’s a bit of a stretch to think the worldwide leader will wanna televise TWO Summit League teams.
My guess….NDSU gets screwed out of it. Again: SDSU has the bigger marquee win (New Mexico), the recent tourney appearance, and an NBA prospect (Wolters). NDSU just doesn’t have the interesting storylines save the game broaddcasters making “Fargo” movie references….
Well, I suppose now it’s a forgone conclusion.
