2017 FCS Bracketology: 9.0

2017 FCS Bracketology: 9.0

Here we go. Two weeks to go in the regular season and still so much to be decided. The committee will unveil its second and final rankings before Selection Sunday tonight around 8:00 on ESPNU at halftime of App State-Georgia Southern. I know where the polls have NDSU, but again this is what I’m projecting will happen over the final two weeks.

Four automatic bids can be clinched this weekend, the Northeast, Ohio Valley, Pioneer and SoCon have win and in scenarios.

Digest. Discuss. Debate.

Missouri Valley – NDSU

Colonial – James Madison

Big Sky – Southern Utah

Big South – Kennesaw State

Northeast – Duquesne

Ohio Valley – Jacksonville State

Patriot – Lehigh

Pioneer – San Diego

SoCon – Wofford

Southland – Central Arkansas

Weber State

Northern Arizona

Stony Brook

Northern Iowa

South Dakota

South Dakota State

Western Illinois

Western Carolina

Sam Houston State

NEW TEAMS IN: Northern Iowa, Lehigh and Samford

TEAMS OUT: Colgate, Eastern Washington and Illinois State

Dom, I hope you are right! I would like to see the JMU/SDSU matchup! They can beat each other up…

I see SDSU and NDSU both winning out. If JMU does also, I see NDSU #2, SDSU #3. That could be quite a semifinal match.

This would be dream bracket for NDSU.

Samford, Colgate and Lehigh are like yoyos. They win one week and Dom places them in the play-offs. The next week they lose and Dom takes them out. I don’t think Samford will make it at all. Also Duquesne may not even be the conference winner as Central Connecticut is making a push for the conference title and the play-offs.

It goes with the week in those leagues. CCSU and Duquesne play Saturday, winner gets the auto-bid.

Do you think the NCAA wants a James Madison vs. NDSU final in Frisco?

Not a doubt in my mind, huge fanbases, lot of hype would surround that game.
