Got a tour from NDSU athletic director Matt Larsen this afternoon of the construction progress of the Sanford Health Athletic Complex, formerly the Bison Sports Arena. Although the Scheels Arena court seating has yet to really get cranking, other features are starting to show some visibility. The new basketball practice facility is the furthest along, but for good reason: the plan is to open it in October of this season. That would include the basketball locker rooms.
The overall project is still on track for an opening in late fall of 2016 and it’s still on budget, with the approved $41 million appropriated by the state Legislature.
The first video is of the practice facility and the second the main arena.
