  1. The thing that impressed me was the fact they played 2 very competitive games in the Regional. Represented the state and university very well. Maybe we are more than just a football school and if we ever do go to the next level, we will be just fine in the other sports as well.

    • BisonTC,

Going to the next level makes a big impact. For the 22 football scholarships added the university/team makers would need to add 22 women’s scholarships or eliminate 22 men’s scholarships from other sports.

Not to mention that the Fargodome isn’t big enough to support an FBS school. So the new scholarship dollars would be competing for dollars to build a bigger football stadium.

I realistically don’t see that happening. Not when the university is already on the outs with the state legislature over the president’s mansion and other accounting fiasco’s.

    • Football is the only sport in which there are two levels at DI. The rest are all the same. Now, the Bison will always be stuck at a mid-major level, unless the PAC-12, Big 12, B1G, ACC, or American conference invite them.

Other than that, all others are bascially some form of mid-major. So, in baseball nothing much will change. NDSU can compete in track, softball, baseball or any other sport with the likes of the MAC, CUSA, SunBelt, etc. I am amazed that will all that has been written about this that people still can’t figure that out.

  2. Yes, the two regional games were incredible, barely losing to OSU and UNLV. This team was a good one!

  3. Yea basketball and other sports are actually above football therefore FBS is needed we’ve won 3 straight fcs titles what more do you all want?
