  1. I think we can all agree that when a Bison fan thinks of NDSU and the Bison football team, we think of downtown. I mean, the tailgating in the US Bank lot; the students walking over from their dorms on 4th Street by the Civic Center; the electricity that shoots through downtown Fargo when the team takes the field; the FARGO THEATRE SIGN!!!!!

The truth is, the last time the Bison football team and downtown were in the same sentence, it involved one of them being wrongly arrested. Good call, ESPN.

    • I get that it’s not the traditional venue. But this is a national TV program and they want to have some aesthetic appeal in their show. The FargoDome looks like a brick airline hanger. There’s pretty spots on Campus but it’s just too small. Downtown Fargo makes perfect sense.

  2. Don, I think that the fan base traveling says it all…Downtown Fargo CANNOT handle thousands of fans.

      • Think ESPN has dealt with large crowds before and has been able to shepherd everyone in that wants to get in, think they’ll be able to do it again this week and make for the best environment possible. Last year alone Gameday did shows from a Navy ship to a location 10 minutes from Georgia Dome and still had lots of people.

        • Can a record be broken downtown? IDK but I like to think the herd is up for the challenge. Its not everyday a the fan-base gets called out be a producer

  3. There are some campus buildings downtown, so it’s not completely off-campus. I think the atmosphere will be exciting, festive, and all around a great time.

  4. They are going to need lots and lots of buses. Missouri holds the current Gameday attendance record with 18K; back in 2010. I’m hoping we can beat that. The downtown location is going to make that tough.

  5. Ok guys settle down. First of all when Game Day is on a campus the main desk is never in the tailgating area. They are somewhere else on campus. The size of the campus at these big schools is huge, just think of the University of Minnesota! At some of these schools they might be set up 2 miles from the stadium and/or tailgate area. The NDSU campus is only like 10 blocks from downtown. The other worry is all the kids getting downtown. Why don’t you go ask the owners of every bar in downtown Fargo if the kids have trouble finding their way downtown after the game. Finally let’s give the ESPN people some credit they do this every week and they know what they are doing. They will be doing the show downtown but you can bet there will be cameras inside the tailgate area and in and around the Fargodome. You people are over thinking this. This is going to be a great thing for the Bison, NDSU and Fargo. But if you all sit and whine like a bunch of spoiled brats what do you think everyone is going to think of Fargo? I am embarrassed by your whining already. Go Bison!

  6. I bleed Green and Gold and couldn’t be more proud that College Game Day is coming to Fargo to represent NDSU. With that being said, I believe there could have been other location to represent the college better but beggars can’t be choosers. We better make the most out of this experience, it doesn’t sound like they are going to change the location no matter how much we whine about it. Let’s own it and make one crazy atmosphere. I’m wondering if we can hang NDSU flags out the windows of the downtown businesses, people cheering and yelling while sitting on the balconies, rooftops, and windows of downtown. I want this to be a Game Day location to go down in the history books. Lets show them what Bison Nation is all about!!

    • We can debate the location all day long. It is what it is and WE need to make the best of it. In true NDSU and state of North Dakota spirit we will put our best foot forward. I too would love to see this show be talked about for years to come of how great it turned out. We need to make it turn out great. This is a chance in a lifetime and need to rally the troops together and pull this off. True if we can get 15,000 to Frisco we can get several thousand downtown. The March is On Go Bison!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • I say be proactive and start calling and asking business and renters today. Cant imagine too many will say no.
BTW If someone does say no, just put them on the list to be sent to our super secret discrete lobbyist/advocate group—-ok bad joke, but kinda funny considering how much of a non story that was!

    • Kinda sucks as the fan base will be split between two locations…its hard to be in two places at once. However, Its tough to argue with ESPN. I think the best thing to do is just be a good host and hope they come back!

BTW… I like the fact they are opening TG early Get there set up, get DT and after the shoe GO TGing. for 3 hours.

      • Game Day ends at 11 am. The Bison game starts 3 and 1/2 hours later at 2:30 pm. It is going to be college kids at the Game Day set like it is at every other college and the Team Makers and all of the other big time tailgaters will be tailgating just like at every other college that hosts this show. I honestly think have the people complaining have never watched Game Day. Go Bison!

  7. Hey idiots (complainers):

You really think you know better than The Worldwide Leader Im Sports Joan deal like this should be staged?

Get your yellow shirt on and walk-drive-crawl-bike-bus-hitchhike downtown. Fill Broadway from St. Mary’s to the Hodo and be Bison proud.

The strength of the Herd is the Bison and the strength of the Bison is being on national TV on Broadway.

  8. I have to admit a little surprised at the location but I know Fargo will do an excellent job pulling this off. ESPN knows what they are doing so enjoy the moment and have fun. I will be in the cities watching it and I’m sure beaming with pride. Go Bison! Go Fargo! Go North Dakota! Show the country what we already know.

College football does not revolve around NDSU and the FargoDome outside of Fargo.

The FargoDome is not the prettiest thing to look at.

This is a once in a program/lifetime opportunity for this school or any school in a town and community this size (much less FCS).

Shut up, show up, quit complaining, and just enjoy the moment.

    • Reality, the whole world would be a better place if you would just stay on the GF Herald and Sue sites. Get Lost!!!

      • The obvious ant truth hurts…and if you aren’t a complainer please “stay on the GF Herald and Sue sites”.

  10. All this complaining is a slap in the face to the folks at espn who decide and plan these events. Good luck getting them to come back again. Shut up and show up!
