Brushing up on Red Turf History

Brushing up on Red Turf History

The story ran last year and in retrospect I probably did it a year too early, but it was too tempting when Eastern Washington came to Gate City Bank Field last year. It was the first game since The Game of 2010, the FCS quarterfinal playoff game at Roos Field in Cheney, Wash. It was the first year of the red turf and what a game it was in December. The lasting memory, of course, is the fumble being called a fumble and Eastern recovering it in overtime, thus vaulting the Eagles into the semifinals and an eventual FCS championship.

On Saturday, NDSU returns to “The Inferno.”
