I’m not ready to put up a red flag by any means, but it may be turning a shade of pink. The loss of running back Symeon Cabell is more costly than most people think.
Cabell is one of the those big-play guys. I thought he was more of a breakaway threat than Kyle Steffes and was destined to get more carries as the season wore on. With the loss of Shamen Washington during fall camp, that means NDSU is down two game-breaking players.
That could hurt, especially against teams like Ball State, who the Bison face this weekend. You can pound at teams like Northeastern. You can’t do it against Ball State. To beat teams like that, you need big plays and the Bison can ill afford to lose more of those types of players.
