Some stuff on the latest two verbals to the Bison football team:
- Andrew Bonnet, 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, fullback from Underwood, Iowa. Described as a freaky athlete, so that could put him in a similar spot as former Bison fullback Tyler Jangula, who was also about 6-3 and 220-something coming out of Williston. One of the big draws to NDSU, Bonnet said, was the West Coast offense and its use of the fullback because so many teams use the spread offense these days. He had 103 carries for 770 yards and played in a small class, 1A, in Iowa. He said he got a walkon offer from Iowa State and attention from Northwest Missouri State.
- Josh Colville, 6-3, 280-pound offensive lineman, Minnetonka. He’ll be the third Skipper coach Dave Nelson will have on the Bison roster joining tight end Taylor Nelson and offensive lineman Boen Anderson. Was his team’s MVP the last two years, as an offensive lineman. Had interest, but no known offer, from Northern Iowa and SDSU. Here is his ESPN recruiting evaluation:Â Colville is a tough run blocker flashing good technique and playing strength as a trap blocker. Has the size for the offensive guard position at the next level of competition. Appears to have some stiffness when playing in space however it doesn’t affect his ability to play on his feet.
