North Dakota State stayed local with its football commitments for 2020 as Ada-Borup’s Mason Miller verbally committed to the Bison on Thursday.
Miller is just under 6’8 and 240 pounds and is projected to be a lineman for NDSU, specifically left tackle what he told me yesterday. Miller has started to take off in recruiting circles over the last 18 months, garnering interest from Minnesota and Iowa. He was visible this spring at NDSU’s spring practices, I saw him there twice scoping out the action.
Miller is one of three major local players receiving high major interest. Barnesville’s Hunter Zenzen has already committed, he verballed to Iowa State in April and told me it was between the Cyclones and Bison for his final decision. Moorhead’s Seth Anderson is the other major player, who has racked up offers from NDSU, SDSU, Wyoming and Northern Illinois.
Miller is the first D-1 football commit from Ada, he joins a pair of former Cougars, Nicole Smart (UND basketball) and Brian Blasey (NDSU track) that went D-1. He had 31 tackles and a forced fumble in 10 games last season.
Miller is a major get for the Bison coaching staff, who were trying to lock down all three of the high major players in the area. They feel confident that they can land Anderson as well. My conversation with Miller is below.
