One question I want answered this week concerns the South Dakota State football team. How did the Jackrabbits go from being a middle-of-the-road NCC team to a bonafide I-AA program on just 42 scholarships? The Jacks beat Cal Davis, a team that demolished the Bison running game.
SDSU won at Southern last year. The Jacks went nose-to-nose with Georgia Southern this year, the same GSU team that defeated No. 1 Furman over the weekend. The Rabbits are for real. They are still in contention for a Great West Football Conference title share. They played Cal Poly tough in a 24-16 loss, the same Cal Poly team that throttled NDSU. They lost 7-0 at the University of Montana in a game that the Jacks had chances to tie, if not win.
We need answers this week.
