North Dakota State will face Colgate Saturday in the FCS quarterfinals. Chris Klieman will be on the sidelines coaching that game, the question is how many more games will be coaching at NDSU?
FootballScoop.com reports that Kansas State is “zeroing” in on Klieman to be its next head coach. Negotiations between North Texas head coach Seth Littrell and K-State broke down, evidently over the insistence by Littrell to bring his entire staff to Manhattan.
We’ve been told Gene Taylor has the authority to hire who he wants to and it appears that the former NDSU athletic director has his sights set on Fargo. The question is when does all this happen? I would expect an announcement by Sunday or Monday at the latest, so how does that affect what NDSU does?
Will Klieman be allowed to stay if NDSU is still playing? Will he need to leave before National Signing Day on December 19th?
The chase is on.
