Wednesday was a fun night for a select number of NDSU football fans as Scheels hosted a night with Carson Wentz at the Avalon Events Center in South Fargo. 150 fans were selected out of a lottery to attend the event and were allowed to bring two guests to the event. Wentz signed everything from the Harvest Helmet to framed photos of Wentz playing in this past year’s FCS Championship Game. Please take a look at some of the stories we did last night on WDAY, some great interaction from fans, including one boy saying: “You’re really tall!”

NDSU picked an interesting verbal commitment on Wednesday night, from 6’4 defensive tackle Lane Tucker from Gillette, Wyoming. Tucker had seven offers, including Wyoming and New Mexico, along with FCS schools Columbia, Montana State, Weber State and Morehead State. Tucker is considered the best prospect out of the state of Wyoming and I was told his decision was down to New Mexico and NDSU. Interesting that the Bison go into Wyoming, as everyone knows that’s where former NDSU coach Craig Bohl resides. Even more intriguing to me as NDSU gets a player that the Cowboys wanted. That brings NDSU up to eleven commitments for the Class of 2017 , five of them defensive linemen.
Some basketball news to pass along, the Summit League released its conference schedule for the upcoming year, there will be a change for fans as games are moving primarily to Wednesdays and Saturdays. There will still be games on Thursdays, but for example, the NDSU men will play six games on Wednesdays this upcoming season. The Bison men will open conference play on the road December 28th at South Dakota State, the first conference game at the SHAC will be on New Year’s Eve against Omaha. The Bison women will christen the SHAC against the Jacks on the 28th.
