Video Blog: Fall Camp 2017 Day 4 Update

The first week of NDSU fall camp 2017 is nearly in the books, the Bison put the pads on Wednesday for the first time.

Thursday they had to deal with the elements as a steady rain fell for the thirty minutes of media availability.

The initial depth chart for the fall was put out on Wednesday, there were a couple of notable names on it, namely Zach Kubas from Dickinson Trinity backing up Austin Kuhnert at right guard, Zack Johnson now starting at right tackle and Caleb Butler starting at left defensive end. You can see the entire depth chart below. Please don’t be distracted by the crazy socks.

Has looked good during the first two practices I’ve been at NDSU. Like his progression, will be interesting to see how many reps he gets during the non-conference.

Will be exciting to see him in the mix at some point during the season.

In past years, it seems like the first 2-deep chart shows mostly veterans and it takes a couple of weeks before the new or young guys move up and replace some of those.

Life is too short to be wearing boring socks. Go for the gusto!

Seeing Jackson Koonce’s name causes me to wonder how a guy with zero return yards (IIRC) last season gets overlooked for pre-season all conference / all American honors.

Dom – Surprised me when you said at the end that Coach K might consider a true freshman in the offensive backfield. My impression was that there is a lot of returning talent – enough that there might not be enough carries to go around. Any idea who the true freshman might be that could justify taking off the red shirt?
