Video Blog: Greg Menard’s Injury and Preseason Poll Thoughts

North Dakota State received some tough news over the weekend as All-American defensive end Greg Menard suffered a torn right ACL and will miss the entire 2017 season.

Defensive coordinator Matt Entz said the injury happened Friday at practice and were hoping it was a MCL tear. Menard was just named to the Buck Buchanan award list on Friday.

Menard has starred since his freshman season, inserted into the lineup in game two of the 2014 season, getting a sack at Weber State.

Since he played as a true freshman, he is eligible to use his redshirt and return for the 2018 season.

Jeff and I break down what Menard’s injury means to the 2017 Bison and candidates to replace him. We selected Greg as our sixth most indispensable Bison of 2017 here.

We also dive in to the release of the preseason poll.

Doesn’t this just prove the list as being right? Meanrd was one of the “cant lose” players. His loss is pretty big. The good thing is that this team has shown it can overcome this kind of adversity like they have the previous years.

Jeff you told me Bison would go undefeated this season and win the natty. Now you say one loss. What changed?

Reality. And with Menard out, getting closer to two losses on a daily basis
