Walker wins by default

The toughest thing to analyze around here is not the best route to take during road construction. It is the Bison Spring Game. On every play, somebody did well and somebody screwed up. There isn’t much inbetween.

So let’s go with the obvious. The quarterbacks are still young, which is another way of saying they had a tough day on Saturday. I have to question Ryan Parsons getting the No. 1 nod before the game; it seems that decision could have, or should have, waited.

Parsons was 12 of 34 passing with three interceptions. He almost had two others picked off. Nick Mertens was OK; he was just 4 of 11 — but two went for touchdowns. Mitch Brekke had the best statistical day at 9 of 15 for 100 yards.

My assessment is injured starter Steve Walker improved his stock by not playing.
