Thursday was a unique night in the Red River Valley, where football fans were scouring wherever they could to be able to watch Carson Wentz play in his first NFL game. The matchup between the Eagles and Tampa Bay was only televised by the local tv stations involved in the game, and the NFL Network is re-airing the game tomorrow afternoon. Fans could purchase a stream of the game and many did just that or pack in to Herd and Horns by the NDSU campus.
Wentz got into the game late in the 2nd quarter and ran the two-minute drill just like head coach Doug Pederson wanted. Wentz found a rhythm midway thru the third quarter and led the Eagles to the Tampa 11, until he was hurried and his pass was intercepted and returned 35 yards. Wentz was also plagued by dropped balls and getting hit and hard. Wentz was drilled a couple times by the Buccaneer defense. The highlight reel of Wentz’s game is below. Philadelphia plays its next preseason game next Thursday against Pittsburgh.
