South Dakota State’s senior quarterback, Taryn Christion returns for a fourth year under center for the Jackrabbits. Christion had a breakthough sophomore season, which included a great performance in Fargo. He backed that up throwing for over 35 hundred yards last season in leading SDSU to its best ever season.
Everyone will remember how the season ended for Christion, with a horrendous performance against James Madison. I consider this more of an anomaly than the norm. Christion threw six interceptions in that game, which was nearly the amount he had heading into the game. He will be challenged this season with the loss of Jake Wieneke and Dallas Goedert, but the Jacks still have weapons to throw to, Jacob Brown had a touchdown against NDSU last year and Cade Johnson is an intriguing player.
Christion will be tested right out of the gates as the Jacks play at Iowa State, then followed by games at NDSU and UNI, both places he won at as a sophomore.
